Product Overview

A clean booth is a modular local clean zone: FFUs with HEPA filters in the roof deliver vertical unidirectional flow, and antistatic curtains or acrylic panels enclose the perimeter, framing a high-cleanliness area inside an ordinary factory building. Its value is that the whole building does not have to become a cleanroom. On most production lines only a handful of stations genuinely need high cleanliness; concentrating cleanliness at those points costs far less to build and to run than whole-plant classification. The modular structure can be dismantled and relocated, fitted with castors, and is not constrained by floor height.

Why not classify the whole plant

Whole-plant classification costs more than the build. Air handlers, ducts, filters, air change rates, flooring and partitions all have to be specified to the highest grade, and from then on every kilowatt-hour goes into holding that grade. Survey an actual production line and it usually turns out that only a few specific stations need Class 100, while the rest are fine at Class 10000 or even on ordinary air conditioning. Concentrating resources on those points and enclosing them in booths is the most cost-effective approach. It is also the standard zoning logic in GMP facilities: local high cleanliness at critical operations, with a lower-grade background environment around them.

Enclosure tightness determines the class actually achieved

A booth's classification is set not by the FFUs alone but by supply volume together with enclosure leakage. However clean the roof supply is, if the curtains have large gaps and surrounding air is continuously entrained, the measured class will fall short of the design figure. Three things matter in practice: enough overlap between curtain strips, the right ground clearance (too high leaks, too low obstructs traffic), and positive pressure inside the booth relative to its surroundings. Verify with a particle counter at handover rather than on the design document — this is where the gap most often appears.
