Standard vs high capacity
The high-capacity version folds more media into a frame of the same size, so the same opening passes more air. At 150 mm depth, the high-capacity version has the same initial pressure drop as the standard, about 249 Pa; at 290 mm depth, airflow rises from 32.6 CMM to 56.6 CMM and pressure drop from about 249 Pa to about 333 Pa. In the same 610×610 opening, how much air do the 150 and 290 mm, standard and high-capacity versions handle?
150 mm standard is about 17.0 CMM and high capacity about 27 CMM, both at about 249 Pa initial pressure drop; 292 mm standard is about 32.6 CMM at about 249 Pa; 290 mm high capacity is about 56.6 CMM (2000 CFM) at about 333 Pa. For comparison, a 70 mm mini-pleat in the same opening handles about 10 CMM at 123 Pa at 0.45 m/s. The US Department of Energy standard DOE-STD-3020 rates a 610×610×292 HEPA at 1000 CFM with a maximum pressure drop of 250 Pa, which can serve as a reference.
The specification says 290, 292 or 300 mm. Does it matter?
Yes — measure how deep the frame on site actually allows. 292 mm is the metric equivalent of 11½″, while 290 mm is a common metric depth; we make both, plus 300 and 305 mm. Customers have specified depths such as 250 or 310 mm, which are not standard for us and need to be confirmed. When replacing, measuring the actual depth of the old filter is the most reliable.
The specification says "EN 779 H13". Can you supply that?
The wording itself is inconsistent: EN 779 only has G, M and F classes and was replaced by ISO 16890 in 2018; H13 is an EN 1822 class requiring overall efficiency of 99.95% or higher. Our aluminum-separator filters are rated by efficiency at 0.3 μm (95–99.99%). If your specification requires EN 1822 H13 with a classification report, please say so in your inquiry and we will select accordingly.
For the same 610×610×290 size, how do I tell an aluminum-separator filter from a V-type?
Look from the side: the aluminum-separator type is one block of deeply pleated media with corrugated aluminum strips between the pleats; a V-type has several thin mini-pleat panels arranged in a V, with no aluminum strips. Both can share the same frame size but differ in pressure drop and airflow — for example, one 610×610×290 V-type is rated at 50 CMM at about 249 Pa. The size alone is not enough to tell them apart, so please include a photo of the old filter with your inquiry.
Can you make non-standard sizes such as 590×590×250?
Width and height, yes — besides the 305 and 610 series we have made many non-standard sizes, such as 289×595, 525×505 and 700×700. Depth is more limited: standard depths are 150, 266, 290, 292, 300 and 305 mm, and a depth such as 250 mm must first be confirmed with production. Please give width × height × depth, efficiency, frame material, which face the gasket is on, and the quantity.
