PP Corrosion-Resistant Equipment
PP Fume Hood
Product Overview
PP fume hoods are for work with hydrofluoric, hydrochloric and nitric acid — chemicals that corrode straight through stainless steel. The whole unit is seamlessly welded from imported PP sheet, with no metal parts exposed to the corrosive environment.
Internal baffles guide air evenly up the rear of the chamber, preventing local eddies from carrying contaminants back to the working face. Handles and hinges are also PP, so hardware does not become the first thing on the unit to corrode.

Detailed Description
Why the hardware has to be PP as well
Many acid-resistant hoods have a PP body but keep stainless steel handles, hinges and screws. Those become the first parts of the unit to fail: acid mist condenses on the metal, corrosion starts within months, hinges loosen, doors drop, and the seal goes with them. On this unit handles and hinges are PP too, so corrosion resistance is uniform across the whole assembly. That is the practical difference between "acid-resistant equipment" and "equipment with a PP body". **Check the material of the ductwork on the φ250mm spigot as well** — however resistant the hood is, connecting it to stainless duct simply moves the corrosion inside the pipe.Selection References
