Detailed Description
How much air do the 150 mm and 290 mm depths handle?
The deeper the filter, the more media is folded in and the more air it can pass at the same pressure drop. For a 610×610 mm, 95% filter, both at about 132 Pa initial pressure drop, the 150 mm depth is rated at 17 CMM and the 290 mm depth at 31 CMM — about 1.8 times as much.610×610 opening, 95%: depth and airflow
Rated airflow (model ratings)
The 150 mm and 290 mm standard versions both start at about 132 Pa (13.5 mmH₂O); the high-capacity version is 2000 CFM ≈ 56.6 CMM.
| Size | Efficiency | Rated airflow | Initial pressure drop |
|---|---|---|---|
| 610×610×150 mm | 95% | 17 CMM | About 132 Pa |
| 610×610×290 mm | 95% | 31 CMM | About 132 Pa |
| 455×465×290 mm | 95% | 1200 m³/h | 135 Pa |
| 305×305×150 mm | 65% | 500 m³/h | 65 Pa |
Frames and frame styles
- Frame material: galvanized steel, aluminum, wood or stainless steel - Frame style: box, single header (a flange around the outlet face) or double recessed — it must match the holding frame on site - Gasket: usually on the outlet face - For hot environments there are 150–300°C stainless-frame versionsSpecifications
- Efficiency: 65%, 85%, 95% - Depth: mainly 290/292 mm, also 150 mm - Media: glass fiber with aluminum separators - Dust-holding capacity and final pressure drop: provided per selection An example from an actual shipment: 595×595×292 mm, 95%, galvanized single-header frame. The 95% grade is sometimes called "HEPA 95%", but HEPA normally means 99.97% or higher at 0.3 μm, and 95% sits between medium efficiency and sub-HEPA; for a true HEPA filter, see the HEPA aluminum-separator filter.Frequently Asked Questions
Is a separator filter the same as a bag (pocket) filter?
No. A bag filter is soft media sewn into pockets that only open out when air flows; a separator filter has a rigid box frame, with the media held open by aluminum separators so it keeps its shape. In English a bag filter is often called a pocket filter, so please make clear in your inquiry whether you mean a separator type or a bag (pocket) type — a photo of the old filter helps.
How do I choose between 150 mm and 290 mm depth?
First check how deep the frame on site allows. If it takes 290 mm, the same pressure drop passes more air: for a 610×610, 95% filter, both at about 132 Pa initial pressure drop, 150 mm is rated at 17 CMM and 290 mm at 31 CMM — about 1.8 times. If the frame only takes a shallow filter, use 150 mm.
Why are some filters of the same size rated 31 CMM and others 2000 CFM?
Because there are standard and high-capacity versions. For the same 610×610×290 mm, 95% filter, the standard version is rated at 31 CMM (about 132 Pa), while the high-capacity version puts more media in the same frame and is rated at 2000 CFM (about 56.6 CMM), with pressure drop provided per selection. When replacing, check which version you had, or the airflow or pressure drop will not match the design.
The frame is described as "box", "single header" or "double recessed". How do I match my old filter?
These describe the cross-section of the frame, which must match how the filter locks into the holding frame on site. The most reliable way is to measure the old filter frame width × height × depth and send us photos of the front, the side and the frame edge; we will make the same frame style.
