Detailed Description
Rolls or cut pieces?
If you use a lot, need many sizes and have someone on site who can cut, whole rolls are the most economical; if the size is fixed and you just want to drop the filter in, order cut pieces. Roll length depends on thickness: the thicker the medium, the shorter the roll.| Thickness | Standard roll (width × length) | Area per roll |
|---|---|---|
| 3 mm | 1.2 m × 50 m | 60 m² |
| 5 mm | 1.2 m × 50 m / 30 m | 60 m² / 36 m² |
| 10 mm | 1.2 m × 50 m / 30 m | 60 m² / 36 m² |
| 15 mm | 1.2 m × 50 m / 30 m / 20 m | 60 m² / 36 m² / 24 m² |
| 20 mm | 1.2 m × 30 m / 20 m | 36 m² / 24 m² |
| 25 mm | 1.2 m × 30 m / 20 m; 1.4 m × 20 m | 36 m² / 24 m²; 28 m² |
How to choose the thickness
A thicker fleece has more fiber, so it holds more dust, but air also passes through it less easily. In the orders we actually supply, pre-filter pieces for air handling units are most often 5 mm or 10 mm, with some at 20 mm; when replacing, ordering the same thickness as the old piece is the safest choice. Examples from actual orders: - Pre-filter pieces for air handling units: 700×700×5 mm, 550×550×5 mm - Thicker pre-filter pieces: 630×630×20 mm - Large air intakes: 1200×1800×10 mm, 1200×1100×10 mm - Small pieces for equipment fan intakes: 125×70×10 mmSpecifications

Industry typical values (from public data)
We do not have a specification sheet from our roll supplier, so the table below summarizes typical ranges from overseas manufacturers' catalogs and public specification sheets; the shipping specification governs. The faster the air, the higher the pressure drop of the same fleece, so each pressure drop is given with its test velocity.| Thickness | Basis weight (approx.) | Initial pressure drop (approx.) | Approx. class (EN 779) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 mm | Provided per selection | Provided per selection | G2 or below |
| 5 mm | 80–120 g/m² | 10–20 Pa @1.5 m/s (estimated) | G2 |
| 10 mm | 100–150 g/m² | 15–30 Pa @1.5 m/s | G2–G3 |
| 15 mm | 130–180 g/m² | 20–35 Pa @1.5 m/s | G3 |
| 20 mm | 180–250 g/m² | 30–45 Pa @1.0–1.5 m/s | G3–G4 |
| 25 mm | 220–400 g/m² | 35–50 Pa @1.0 m/s | G4 |
Frequently Asked Questions
What information do you need to order cut pieces?
Please give length × width (mm), thickness and quantity, plus color, whether you want heat-sealed edges (edges pressed shut with heat so they shed less), and the acceptable size tolerance. We have cut pieces from 125×70×10 mm for equipment fans up to large 1200×1800×10 mm sheets. For whole rolls, tell us the thickness, width and length.
Is it heat resistant? Can it be used in an oven or hot exhaust?
Polyester fleece is an ambient-temperature material; public catalogs give a maximum service temperature of about 70–100°C, so it is not recommended for ovens or hot exhaust. For high temperatures, use a heat-resistant fleece made of aromatic polyamide fiber, available in 180°C and 240°C versions — please tell us the actual temperature when you ask for a quote.
Do you have flame-retardant or UL 94 rated non-woven?
The standard grade is not a flame-retardant material and has no UL 94 test report. If your specification requires flame retardancy or UL 94, please send the specification with your inquiry and we will check whether a suitable material and report can be provided.
